GETTING THINGS DONE
One tiny but essential band of dedicated folks
Exists, amid vast multitudes of blobs–
Too often, are the butt of cruel “nerdy” jokes,
Yet they perform the necessary jobs,
Who toil almost unnoticed,
From the rise to set of sun,
Whatever needs the doing, they’re
THE GUYS WHO GET THINGS DONE.
They’re the ones whom Hubbard says “catch hold and lift”,
They don’t complain or shirk it, they just do,
You’ll see them working silently, on any labor-shift,
And hard to recognize ‘em, they are few.
It’s seldom quick or easy,
And it surely isn’t fun,
But when the job’s important, call
THE GUYS WHO GET THINGS DONE.
They never seek for glory, and rewards are often slim,
What praise they get is grudging, late and faint,
So let’s cheer for Smith and Nassr, though they risked no life nor limb,
They carried out the task without complaint–
And certainly in Heaven
There’s a laurel to be won
For seeing it and doing it,
THE GUYS WHO GET THINGS DONE!
