James Warner Moore, 79, of The Villages, Florida, passed away July 18, 2011 in Pensacola, Florida, with his family at his side. Born in 1933 in San Diego, California, he was the son of Marjorie L. Warner Moore and RAdm. Chauncey Moore, (USNA class of 1922). After retiring from the State of Florida as a tax auditor, he was active in The Villages in theater, appearing in The Villages Theater Company and The Way, Way, Way Off Broadway Players productions. He was also active in The Singles Club and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his sister, Sally Moore Brannan McNamara, daughters Linda Lee Moore Landrigan, and Katharine Kirkman Moore Boggess, and grandsons Stuart MacNeil Kirkman Boggess and Martin Surget Moore Boggess. Memorial contributions may be sent to Martha’s Vineyard of Pensacola, a place where critical care families can go for rest and support.
