Capt. Hal Deaver Wood
On Wednesday, June 12, 2013, Captain Hal Deaver Wood, USNR (Ret.), formerly of Towson, MD, passed away. He was a 1954 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and retired from the Navy as a Captain in April of 1988. He lived in Towson, MD from 1960 to 1997 where he worked as an engineer for Bendix/Allied Signal. His first wife, Martha Kemp Wood of Towson, MD died in 1995. He is survived by three daughters, Sharon W. Goodill of Wilmington, DE, Virginia W. Barnhart of Towson, MD and Ann W. Rihn of Leesburg, VA; and his wife of 16 years, Jane Barton Robbins, formerly of Easton, MD. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Elizabeth L. Goodill, Claire F. Goodill, James K. Barnhart, Samuel E. Barnhart, Christine W. Rihn and Henry Tyler Rihn.
A private burial service and Celebration of Life will be held in Florida. In lieu of flowers, those to wish to make a gift are encouraged to donate to the American Lung Association or Englewood United Methodist Church.
