Henry "Hank" Hershey Jr., died on July 4th, 2013 at Lutheran Home at Topton. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Evans) Hershey. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Miriam Kupp Hershey Walter and stepfather Eugene Walter. He is also survived by a daughter, Vicki A. Cowley, wife of Neil; a son, Henry E. Hershey III, husband of Mary Beth Heffley Hershey; five grandchildren: Heather Seyler; Elizabeth Werner; Brandon, Ashley and Justin Hershey; seven great-grandchildren: Ella, Audrey, and Zachary Seyler; Vivian, Avalyn and Blake Werner; and Ethan Hershey. He is also survived by a sister, Elaine Laws and brother Richard Walter. He is a graduate of Reading High School 1948, attended the U.S.N.A Preparatory School 1950 and the U.S. Naval Academy in 1952. He completed a long career in retail, which included managing McCrory Stores in seven states, advancing through various department store positions to Executive VP and General Merchandise Manager. He was president of Jelleffs Women's Specialty Stores and Manhattan and Campus Factory Stores. He was installed into the Factory Outlet "Hall of Fame" in 2007. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the St. John's F&AM Masonic Lodge #435. He was a longtime devoted member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church, Reading PA, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday July 9th. Family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to The Holy Cross Endowment Fund.
