FOR THE "29 TH "

                          A Leap into Leap Year

One year in four, it happens, 

The calendar takes a hitch—

One day, this month, it's added

To February's bitch.

The yearly revolutions

Must add one-fourth to days,

Or else the odd arrangement

Might leave us in a maze.

But in Dogpatch, Kentucky

The virgins shout Hurray!

For then they may catch husbands—

It's Sadie Hawkins Day!
